Some people seem to be born naturally empathetic. If this is you, chances are you’re compassionate, have a keen intuition, an undeniable depth to their personalities and a strong connection to other people and the Earth. However, even those who are empathetic need to take time to focus and re-center. This is what leads to warrior empaths. To be a warrior empath, you need to learn self-care tools.
Incorporate the following steps into your life to become an empath warrior:
1. Express Gratitude
Start by writing down all the things that bring about a sense of gratitude in you. Keep the list by your bed and read it every morning before you get up. Alternatively, write down the things for which you are grateful at the end of each week. (1)
Instead of focusing on what you don’t want or the things you have to do, focus on this list and recall it throughout the day. Gratitude increases positive energy and can make you a happier person. (2)
2. Meditate
Meditation helps you stay centered in clean energy, rather than in fear. When you start to feel overwhelmed, even a short meditation session can help you regain clarity and calmness. Meditation can help empower you and puts you in charge of your emotional state. It’s good for you–mentally and physically–so if you can, try to incorporate meditation into your daily routine. (3)
3. Practice Mindful Breathing
When you breathe, envision expelling negative energy and stress when you exhale. Similarly, when you inhale, envision taking in clarity and power. Repeat this throughout the day. Doing so will help stop stress from building up in your body and will pave your way to becoming an empath warrior.
4. Trust Your Intuition
Your intuition is your guide—trust it! It will tell you what people to have in your life and which ones to avoid. Your intuition will clue you in by your rises and drops in energy when you are around certain people. Pay attention to this! Choose to be around those who increase rather than cause a drop in your energy.
Furthermore, be sure to set boundaries with those who rob you of your energy levels.
5. Love Yourself
Develop your own personal mantra that reflects how worthy and precious you are! Recognize that it’s okay—empowering, even—to be vulnerable and strong at the same time.
As an empathetic person, your vulnerability is to be celebrated! The world needs people like you. Embrace it! (4)
