Aloe For Hair

She Rubs Aloe Vera on Her Hair. The Reason? Genius!

How many ingredients go into your favorite hair care product? If you got it at your local superstore, chances are that number is quite high.

But what if I told you that with just one simple and natural ingredient, you could get results that outshine, out-strengthen and out-moisturize any commercial product?

Meet aloe vera.

Aloe gel contains proteolytic enzymes that can maintain healthy skin cells on your scalp. Those compounds in the gel actually work similarly to the keratin in your hair, providing elasticity and preventing breakage.

Aloe gel also works as a fantastic conditioner that keeps your hair smooth, shiny and dandruff free.

To top it all off, you can easily grow aloe vera in a pot indoors. In fact, as I’m writing this, I’ve got an aloe plant sitting behind my laptop!

No kidding.

If you’d prefer to buy the gel ready-to-go, no worries. You can find plenty of organic options here.

How To Use Aloe For Your Hair

If you’re using aloe gel from a container, you can skip ahead to the blending part.

If you’re harvesting the gel from a plant, begin by cutting one leaf open to reveal the gel. Scoop this gel out with a spoon and throw it into your blender.

Blend the gel until it’s a thin liquid and apply it liberally to your hair. Wrap your hair in a towel and leave the aloe to sit overnight.
